The 11-year-old daughter of Australian sporting icon Cathy Freeman is following in her mother's footsteps.

Cathy Freeman, who won the 400-meter gold medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, is widely considered to be one of Australia's greatest ever athletes.

Her daughter, Ruby, is showing great promise as a track and field athlete. She recently won the 100-meter and 200-meter races at the Australian National Junior Championships.

Cathy Freeman is proud of her daughter's achievements, but she is also keen to downplay the hype surrounding her. She says that Ruby is still young and has a lot to learn.

"She's a talented athlete, but she's still very young," Freeman said. "I don't want to put too much pressure on her. I just want her to enjoy her sport and have fun."

Despite her mother's modesty, Ruby is clearly a talented athlete. She has the potential to be a great track and field star.
