Ticketmaster UK Cancels Bruce Springsteen Sale Amidst Bot Concerns

Ticketmaster riddled with bot issues

Ticketmaster UK has been forced to cancel the general sale of Bruce Springsteen tickets following a 'scalper attack' that saw bots snap up vast quantities of tickets and put fans in an online queue that stretched to 400,000.

It follows reports of Bruce Springsteen tickets being resold at heavily inflated prices on secondary ticketing sites.

No concrete date for a further sale

An investigation has been launched into the bot activity but no concrete date has been set for a further sale of tickets. "Due to exceptionally high levels of traffic and bot activity, the on-sale for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band has been paused." Ticketmaster UK said in a statement.

Fans frustrated

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's UK tour will begin in April but fans are now frustrated that they have been priced out of seeing the legend play live.

Failure of CAPTCHA

Fans have claimed that Ticketmaster's CAPTCHA system failed to prevent bots from buying vast quantities of tickets.

One fan said: "The CAPTCHA system is not fit for purpose. It failed to stop bots from buying tickets in the first sale. Ticketmaster needs to do more to protect real fans from scalpers."
